Jennifer has served the community as a public-school teacher and avid volunteer of various nonprofit organizations. During the ten years she volunteered with another guide dog school, she raised three guide dogs-in-training, was a puppy sitter for countless puppies, assisted in the kennel, served on the Board of Directors for three years and the Advisory Board thereafter, and spoke to many groups in the community as an ambassador. As a result of this experience, Jennifer recognized the need to serve a greater number of visually impaired Texans, hence the formation of Vision Guide Dogs, Inc. She believes that everyone deserves access to tools and resources that will allow them to live an independent life.
Jennifer is a New England native, but has lived in Michigan, Rhode Island, and North Carolina prior to moving to Texas in 2011. She lives in San Antonio with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. Jennifer is a University of Michigan graduate. Go Blue! When she’s not volunteering, you can most often find her exploring new recipes, hiking the great outdoors, or engrossed in a good book.
